It has been my honor and privilege to serve the constituents of the Sunset since I was first appointed to the Board of Supervisors in 2007, and ran for election in 2008.
I ask for your support today as I proudly run for re-election on November 2nd, to continue representing District 4.
During these past three years, it has been both my pleasure and an important part of my job to learn more about what issues are important to the residents of District 4. I heard you, and have made it my priority to fight for the issues and investments in our future that will benefit San Francisco residents today and for generations to come.
I have fought for investment in our infrastructure such as improvements to the Ortega and Parkside branch libraries that will create a more welcoming, safer environment and provide state-of-the art equipment and resources for our neighborhoods.
Our community meeting places that play a vital role in connecting neighbors like the Sunset Recreation Center and McCoppin Square are also slated to see $19 million in seismic and accessibility improvements in the coming years.
To help District 4’s vital small business community, I have made it my priority to strengthen support for our local businesses by streamlining the city’s contracting process, allowing for prompt payment for work completed, incentivizing local small business participation and working with local merchants to increase the vibrancy of our merchant corridors to create local jobs.
As a member of the Board, I will do everything in my power to ensure our community feels safe and protected. Residents must feel secure doing things like going to the grocery store, walking to school and riding Muni.
Finally, I am proud to have introduced successful legislation that provides protections to tenants who are victims of domestic violence. In response to the massage parlors that were operating as fronts for prostitution, I introduced successful legislation to strengthen regulations, coordinate enforcement and expand community review of any proposed massage establishments.
If you have an idea or concern to share, or a question to ask, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I want to hear from you.
Sincerely,
